Happy April from Tropical Beach Resorts! As always, our city is full of fun and exciting things for you and your family to enjoy during your stay. From film festivals to beachside fun, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Here is our list of some of the best things to do during your time in Siesta Key this month.
 

Sarasota Film Festival | April 5th - 14th


The Sarasota Film Festival is back for its 26th year, showcasing local and statewide talents in the film industry. Catch over 200 short and feature films across a variety of genres. This festival is one of the most notable ones in the country, and features kid-friendly film options as well, making it a great time for the whole family.

Wild About Nature Festival | April 6th


If you’re a nature lover, get outside and experience all that Sarasota’s wildlife has to offer at the Wild About Nature Festival. Enjoy activities such as face painting, kayaking, tree climbing, and more. There will also be live music and food trucks for you to enjoy. The festival is free with no previous registration required.

Sarasota Open | April 7th - 14th 


Calling all tennis lovers! The Sarasota Open is kicking off as the first stop on the U.S. clay tennis court tour this year. The festival works to partner with local organizations to benefit those in need and stimulate economic growth for Sarasota’s small businesses. If you enjoy giving back and watching tennis, this event is perfect for you.

Venice Shark Tooth Festival | April 13th - 14th


Ocean animal enthusiasts of all ages gather at the Venice Shark Tooth Festival for an easy way to collect shark teeth! You’ll find a combination of fossils, music, food, and fun! Shop from local vendors selling beach-themed merchandise and lots of shark teeth. Venice is known as the shark tooth capital of the world, so this is a unique experience in the perfect location. 

The festival will be from 10AM - 8PM on Saturday and 10AM - 5PM on Sunday at Centennial Park in Venice. For more information, visit the event website here.
 

Wine Walk 2024 | April 19th


What better way to spend quality time with your significant other than a stroll through The Ringling with a glass of wine? This luxurious wine-tasting walk will take you through different types of wines from different regions all in benefit of The Ringling. You’ll be captivated by the views and live music being offered during this event.

World Circus Day | April 20th


Celebrate World Circus Day with one of the most well-known circus productions at The Ringling. Explore the circus exhibit and learn about the history of the circus from a local perspective. Here you’ll see the world’s largest miniature circus and some of John Ringling’s belongings.

Ride the Beaches 2024 | April 28th


If you are an avid cyclist and sightseer, Ride The Beaches is the perfect experience for you. With three different ride options (15 miles, 35 miles, or 75 miles) you’ll get to see Sarasota and the surrounding areas from a new perspective. The annual ride supports three different local charities and in the past has raised over $40,000! It’s a great cause and a whole lot of fun. 

If you are fit to bike long distances and are interested, early registration is recommended as there is a 1,000 biker-cap this year. For more information, visit the site here.
