Old Salty Dog

Since 1986, Southwest residents and visitors have flocked to the Old Salty Dog for fan-favorites like their beer-battered, deep-fried hot dogs and cold brews. This joint is perfect for a laid-back bar experience.

Located on Ocean Blvd, right before the Siesta Key Village, you can freely experience one of the best dives in Sarasota.

Gilligan’s Island

Founded in 2001, Gilligan’s Island prides itself for being the largest Tiki Bar in Sarasota and a staple for many locals.
Grab a fresh blackened grouper sandwich with all the fixin's while enjoying an array of flat screens.
Did we mention Gilligan’s Island converted a VW Bus into a kitchen? Yes, you heard right! Watch as all the delicious food is served hot outside the van window.
Take a picture in front of the VW Bus parked in front of the kitchen after you enjoy your meal.

Big Olaf

In 1982 Big Olaf Creamery opened in the Village of Siesta Key. Ever since, people have been single-file out the door waiting for the amazing Amish-made ice cream. That’s right, all of the ice cream is made by local Amish craftsmen utilizing premium-grade A milk.
Its mission? Create the best ice cream in Siesta Key. If 40 years of business doesn’t solidify the claim, maybe their famous “Trashcan” ice cream will! (It’s got a bit of everything).

Finishing your ice cream from Big Olaf’s is a perfect opportunity to stroll back to your Tropical Beach home. After enjoying a sunset walk back, take a dip in our heated pool, or maybe have a movie night! The options are limitless at Tropical Beach Resorts!
