Happy 2024 from Tropical Beach! We are finally into the new year, and there are so many awesome things to do in our area to celebrate the first month of the new year. From the return of old events to the introduction of new ones, there’s surely something for everyone in your family to enjoy on your stay in Siesta Key. Check out our list of events for January!
 

BMX’s Sunshine State Nationals | January 5th - 7th

Watch as 1,500 BMX riders from across the US and Canada compete to qualify for the UCI BMX World Championships! Eligible riders in this race will work to earn points toward qualifying for the 2024 Olympics! Admission to the races is free, and there will be vendors to purchase food and merchandise while you enjoy the excitement. The races will be held at Sarasota County’s Youth Athletic Complex.

Sarasota Winter Carnival | January 11th - 15th

Enjoy a true carnival experience at University Town Center in Sarasota! Enjoy different rides, food, and other fair fun! Entry to the carnival is free with rides and concessions charged individually. Times vary based on the day, so check out the event posting here for more information before you go. 
 

Sarasota Beer & Burger Festival | January 13th - 14th


What better way to spend a weekend than trying new burgers and drinking cool beers? Enjoy the Sarasota Beer and Burger Festival January 13th - 14th starting at 12pm each day. Not only will you find both of these items, but experience live music and shop burger-themed vendors. Kids under 18 have free admission and adults are $10 advance and $15 at the gate.

Forks & Corks | January 25th - 29th


Calling all food and wine connoisseurs! This festival is for you. Experience the perfect way to taste the local flavors of Sarasota. Each day of the festival has a unique theme – ranging from dinners to casual tastings, leading up to the Grand Tasting on January 28th. This event is popular amongst locals and visitors alike, so tickets sell out fast!

Sarasota Seafood and Music Festival | January 26th - 28th


The 8th annual Seafood and Music Festival is back in Sarasota this January! Enjoy various seafood vendors, but if you're not a fan of seafood don't worry! Meat and vegetarian options are also available. There will be live music ranging from pop bands to Caribbean groups – simply a time you can’t miss! Catch the small business vendors that sell goods and gifts such as pottery, jewelry, and more.

Gasparilla Festival | January 27th

The Pirates are back and ready to take over Tampa Bay! This beloved tradition is extra special to Tampa natives, and is an incredible event for visitors to experience as well! Wear your best Pirate gear and watch the Gasparilla parade, held from 2pm - 6pm. For a kid-friendly experience, be sure to attend the children’s parade on January 20th at 4pm. Adults, strap in for all of the Gasparilla offerings from local bars and restaurants, and have fun!
